For those that don't know
or have never heard of David Judaken, he's the nightlife proprietor behind
Syndicate Hospitality that owns LA nightclubs like MyHouse located in the
former Garden of Eden space in Hollywood. His latest take on Eden comes
further east in the former Opera dance club where The Hills cast and quasi
A-list once raged but then eventually came to a full simmer. It's here a
classic New York speakeasy is recreated in a Hollywood Boulevard address
accessed through a series of indoor and outdoor spaces wrapped in rustic
wood paneling and featuring a Moroccan meets industrial vibe of
geometrical lighting and architectural elements. Flowing between more
sedate lounge and bumping dance floor, sculptural black leather banquettes
surround cocktail tables of petrified wood with leggy staff of cocktail
servers in slip dresses that dish out VIP service that's surprisingly
personable and friendly. Outside, smoker friends commingle on a large
terrace with additional seating and bar is one of the prettiest courtyards
on the LA nightlife circuit.
