Rainbow Bar & Grill-Rainbow
Bar & Grill is a rockers musical and dining paradise. The joint has a
relatively decent selection of bar-food and other faves including burgers,
steaks, fried mozzarella sticks and Chilean sea bass. You won't lack for
something to chew on while you marvel at the hair-rock clientele, who seem
to have escaped post-1980s annihilation simply by refusing to leave the
Rainbow.

Rawhide at Cobra's-Fulfill
your not-so-secret "Brokeback Mountain" fantasies by learning how to line
dance from the flannel-shirt-clad experts at Rawhide, Cobra’s Sunday night
country western beer-bust-and-barbecue located in the heart of North
Hollywood. You'll have to pony up $5 to gain entry, but it's worth all the
Stetsons in Texas to have a handsome hombre show you just how to boot
scoot and boogie. Be sure to get there early—although the bar is open
until 9 p.m., line dancing lessons are only from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Red
Rock

This Sunset Strip bar
attracts people in search of watching the game, grabbing a burger, or
having a rollicking girls night out. The large menu impresses as much as
the generous pours from the tap.

The
Ruby-Well-known
for, like, its totally rad '80s nights, The Ruby attracts a decidedly
younger crowd (18+) with loud tracks, giant video projections, and gallons
upon gallons of Red Bull. Three different rooms pump out three very
different types of music (usually 80's rock, hip-hop, and techno), with
some serious grinding going on in the hip-hop room.

Skybar-Of
all of LA's celeb hangouts, the bar at the Mondrian Hotel is probably the
most infamous. (Britney Spears and Jesse Metcalfe both went on weekend
benders here before checking into rehab.) In its heyday, getting into the
Skybar was like a rite of passage, but unless they looked like a
supermodel or were rolling with Leonardo DiCaprio, there was no way they'd
get in much less get to lounge on the poolside bed that overlooks the
city. The door policy has since mellowed, though we must warn you:
Thursdays are still a tough night to get in.

Spago Beverly Hills
An institution of luxury dining since the 1980s, Spago still satisfies
locals and tourists looking to scout celebs and splurge on a good meal.
Although the prices are steep, this restaurant is a bargain when you
consider the quality and consistency of food and service you receive—and
of course, the privilege of saying you were there.

Sugar
Celebs like Jennifer Lopez and Ali
Larter don't look like they eat a lot of sugar, but they can't resist when
it comes to this sweet club where the walls are made of rock candy and the
cocktails are garnished with sugar crystals. Sugar fiends, be warned: The
rock candy decorations are lacquered, so you may want to keep your
salivating tongue back in your mouth

Temple Bar
Westside beat junkies lose themselves on
the dance floor at this red colored den where DJs spin hip hop, house and
world. The decor has a religious theme (Temple Bar, get it?) with a giant
Buddha statue and tons of candle lighting and we're sure that after your
fourth drink, a couple minutes on the on the dance floor feels like a
religious experience.
